On the morning of October 23, 2025, the gentle sunlight bathed the fields of the Chuying Natural Farming and Reading Camp. The toddlers and pre-kindergarten children from Dipont Kindergarten, brimming with curiosity and anticipation, embarked on a farm study trip that offered an in-depth dialogue with autumn and nature. In just two hours, the fields echoed with the children's clear laughter, and their tiny footprints were left in the soil as they explored. This meaningful study trip came to a successful close amidst the children's reluctance to leave, leaving behind warm and precious moments worth recounting one by one.

Exploring the Farm: Touching Autumn's Harvest

At the start of the activity, the children transformed into "little explorers" and stepped into the farm filled with the scent of harvest. The farm teachers held the children's hands and introduced them to the fruits in the fields one by one: golden wheat, plump peanuts, chubby eggplants, and a variety of fruits and vegetables hanging from the branches. The children's eyes widened with curiosity. Some reached out to touch the wheat ears, while others leaned in to smell the fragrance of the fruits. Using their senses of sight, smell, and touch, they etched the image of "autumn on the farm" into their minds. Some children were even more proactive, surrounding the teachers and asking questions like, "What color was this fruit before?" and "Why are there so many fruits in autumn?" Through observation and questioning, they gradually began to understand the simple connections between seasons and plant changes, and their observation and comparison skills improved unconsciously.

Hands-On Practice: Gaining a Sense of Accomplishment Through Labor

The corn-shelling session that followed immediately got the children excited. The teachers handed out golden corn cobs to each child, saying, "Try shelling the corn kernels to feed the chicks and ducks!" As soon as the words were spoken, the children began to work diligently. The toddlers were a bit clumsy at first, using their fingers to pry the corn kernels off with some effort. Occasionally, they would look at the teachers anxiously. With the teachers' patient guidance, they gradually found the technique. As the corn kernels fell into the plates one by one, the children's faces were filled with pride. The pre-kindergarten children were more skilled. Not only could they shell the corn quickly, but they would also take the initiative to help their slower peers, saying, "I'll show you how to do it faster!" Simple interactions were filled with kindness.

The "Grain Transporter" role-playing game was a special delight for the pre-kindergarten children. Sweet potatoes and pumpkins of various shapes and sizes were used as "harvested grains," and the children had to work in relay to safely transport the pumpkins from the starting point on the field ridge to the finish line. Some children held the sweet potatoes steadily with both hands and walked quickly, afraid of dropping them. Others carried one in each hand and moved forward slowly. This little "grain transport" task not only exercised the children's large muscle groups and coordination but also gave them an initial understanding of the meaning of "responsibility"—to safely deliver the "grains" to their destination.

Tasting Deliciousness: Feeling the Sweetness of Labor

At the end of the activity, hot and fragrant roasted sweet potatoes were served, instantly attracting the attention of all the children. Peeling off the crispy outer skin, the golden and soft sweet potatoes emitted steam. The children couldn't wait to take a bite, and the sweet taste spread across their tongues. Some children couldn't help but narrow their eyes, while others held up their sweet potatoes and shared with their peers, "Try it! It's so sweet!" This bite of sweetness was not only a reward for their labor but also the warmest taste in collective life.

Growth Happens Quietly: Sowing Seeds of Beauty in Nature

This farm study trip was not just a simple outing but a nature education lesson rooted in the soil. The children learned through experience and grew through labor, and many precious qualities sprouted unconsciously.

For the toddlers, this was their first formal "handshake" with nature. Seeing the colorful autumn scenery, smelling the fragrance of the soil, listening to the sounds of nature, and tasting the original flavors of food, the direct sensory stimulation helped them establish their initial connection with nature and fully stimulated their curiosity. These small cognitions planted the seeds for them to explore the world.

The pre-kindergarten children achieved even more breakthroughs in the activity. From passive perception to active discovery, they learned to observe and think, experienced the fun of collective labor, understood the importance of taking responsibility, and the awareness of teamwork quietly sprouted. The improvement of these abilities and qualities was more vivid and profound than any knowledge transmission and would become an important foundation for their future growth.

To Be Continued: Looking Forward to the Next Nature Encounter

Although this autumn farm study trip has come to a successful close, the children's story with nature has just begun. We believe that the seeds of "loving nature, cherishing life, and being eager to explore" sown in the children's hearts during this journey will slowly sprout and grow under the nourishment of sunlight and rain in the days to come.

Embrace Nature Unlock the Limited-Edition Joy of Golden Autumn

The autumn breeze blows gently, carrying away the heat of summer and bringing the coolness of golden autumn. All around, the land is laden with fruits; the golden rice fields sway in the autumn wind, as if telling stories of the autumn harvest. Among the countless ways to experience autumn, the hard work and joy of toiling in the countryside are absolutely indispensable. Childhood should belong to the soil and to nature.

In the golden month of October, our KG2 children at NKCS Kindergarten walked into the farm, embarking on an autumn harvest trip. Amidst busyness and joy, they felt the charm of nature and the value of labor.

Treasure Hunt in the Fields: Pick Autumn into Little Baskets

As soon as they stepped into the fields, the children’s eyes lit up instantly! Crops like radishes, pumpkins, eggplants, peanuts, and edamame all ripen in the beautiful autumn. The children picked while discussing, turning the fields into a lively "nature classroom".

Rice Threshing: Understand "Every Grain Comes from Hard Work"

The golden rice ears hung heavily, rustling when the wind blew, as if greeting everyone. The children learned rice hulling technology together and got to know a simple yet useful tool—the rice huller (a traditional farm tool). They tried hulling rice grains with it. When the children turned rice grains into rice by themselves, "Every grain comes from hard work" was no longer just a simple principle, but a treasure hidden in every turn and every grain of rice—it contains the wisdom of ancient people and, more importantly, the sweat of farmers.

Group Creativity: Dress the Scarecrow in a Leaf Skirt

The children collaborated to make a leaf skirt for the farm’s scarecrow. This was a perfect combination of natural beauty and group creativity. The scarecrow standing in the fields, with this unique skirt, will become an eternal scenery of the farm and also embody the joy of the children's cooperation.

Aroma of Roasted Sweet Potatoes: Autumn Tastes Sweet

In the roasting oven by the field ridges, sweet potatoes were steaming hot, and their sweet aroma wafted far and wide. Blow on it, break it open—golden sweet potato flesh was revealed. Take a bite, and sweet juice filled the mouth. The children took turns taking bites, sharing the most comforting sweetness of autumn.

We have always believed that the best education is not about viewing the world through a window, but about holding the children’s little hands, taking them into the sunshine and onto the field ridges. Let every touch, every observation, and every experience become nutrients that nourish their growth. In the future, we will continue to take the children to embrace nature and explore the world, allowing their childhood to grow the strongest and most vibrant strength in the soil and sunshine.

Embracing Autumn’s Splendor,

Celebrating the Harvest

——A KG3 Farm Field Trip Story

Under the crisp autumn breeze laden with the scent of ripened fruits, our KG3 children immersed in a remarkable journey of discovery—the "Colors of Autumn" farm field trip. This hands-on expedition allowed children to intimately engage with nature, experiencing firsthand the season's vibrant beauty and harvest delights. Through authentic farm interactions, they organically developed a holistic understanding of autumn's defining characteristics.

Farm Explorers: An Autumn Adventure

Upon arriving at the farm, the children set off to explore its every corner. Guided by their teachers, they discovered various crops and learned about their growth cycles. Before them unfolded a living autumn panorama: golden rice paddies, fruit-laden trees, and lush vegetable patches. This hands-on experience brought their book-learning to life, transforming abstract knowledge into tangible understanding. They saw for themselves that autumn is more than a change of seasons—it's Nature's generous gift. The adventure culminated in a harvesting session, where the children eagerly filled their baskets with peppers, eggplants, edamame, and peanuts.

Ancient Methods, Modern Minds: Grinding Soymilk

Our young learners gathered around a traditional stone mill at the farm, ready to transform hardy soybeans into creamy milk. This wasn't just a demonstration; it was a lesson in physics and chemistry brought to life. With each push of the grindstone, they felt the principles of leverage at work. They watched in amazement as solid beans underwent a material transformation, becoming a smooth, white liquid. The experience was a powerful bridge to the past, revealing the brilliance of traditional methods. In the shared effort, they learned the virtues of cooperation and patience, gaining a heartfelt respect for the labor inherent in our food.

The Sweet Potato Hunt: Joy in the Harvest

For the children, nothing compared to the excitement of digging for sweet potatoes. Under the guidance of the farmers, they learned to handle tools and apply basic digging techniques. The thrill of unearthing a large potato sparked cheers and lit up their faces with pure joy and a sense of achievement. This hands-on labor taught them the rewards of hard work and the deep satisfaction of a harvest. The experience culminated in a shared tasting of farm-roasted sweet potatoes. This simple, communal meal served as a practical lesson in food education, connecting them directly to their food source and instilling values of gratitude and avoiding waste.

Our farm field trip served as a living classroom, where immersive experiences fostered not just knowledge, but core abilities. Each moment—from exploring crops and ancient crafts to the hard work of harvest and the warmth of sharing—was a delightful and purposeful lesson.

We believe these experiences have sown vital seeds: a passion for the natural world, a profound appreciation for the food we eat, and a deep respect for the work that brings it to our tables. Moving forward, we are committed to creating more diverse, hands-on investigative activities, ensuring our children's growth is fueled by curiosity, experience, and happiness.
