Disc Golf Asian Championships

The 9th Disc Golf Asian Championships came to a successful conclusion in Fukuoka, Japan during the summer of 2023. After two days and three rounds of fierce competition, the young players from the NKCS King’s Disc Sprots Club took the first, second, third and fourth places in the U16 Junior Division! As the only Chinese adult player in the Armature Advanced Division, Mr. Rock Xia, who led the team, with a tremendous comeback during last 6-hole Championship Round, took the Division Title and won the Championship.

The Disc Golf Asian Championships, hosted by the Japan Disc Golf Association and organized by the Fukuoka Disc Golf Association, kicked off on August 19th at the Fukuoka Uminonakamichi Seaside Park Disc Golf Course, with a total of 102 players from all over Asia competing in the form of an individual scoring tournament according to age groups. The children of NKCS King's Disc Sports Club relied on their strong willpower and concentration to complete the two-day, 36-hole competition under the scorching sun, and our Primary School's Justin Xi won the U16 Division Title with a total of 171 strokes. Bobby Wang, Jeremy Zheng, and Vicente He won the second, third, and fourth place in this division, respectively!

As the only Chinese adult player in the Advance Division, Mr. Xia was down two strokes in 36-hole regular rounds, but in the Championship Round Mr. Xia with an amazing comeback and tie the score with first place on hole 5 going to the last hole. He Tees off with a great drive and puts the disc only 6 meters away from the basket. Mr. Xia won the Division Title and the Championship with a Birdie on the last hole when his competitor took a Par!

In the new academic year of 2023-2024, our school’s CCA program has kicked off with a great start. We believe that in the near future, we will see more students standing on the world stage, competing for their country and adding honors to the school! The future is promising!
