Leading the English Department at Nanwai King’s College is Erin Christensen. A native of Northern California, he is quite enamored with the natural environment and enjoys exercising outdoors. His hometown hobbies include hiking, soccer (football) and running.
In 2003, Erin graduated from California State University, Chico with one BA in International Relations and one BA in French …but not before dabbling in subjects ranging from computer science to nutrition to anthropology. He earned a PGCE from the University of Sunderland to further his teaching qualifications.
Working alongside English language learners in China since 2005 has been a true pleasure for Erin. As current Head of English at Nanjing Foreign Language School’s International Centre, his time and energies are focused on preparing students for a successful university career abroad. Before his current role, Erin spent five years lecturing on a variety of topics at Ginling Women’s College, Nanjing Normal University.
Mr. Christensen experiences the world as interconnected and believes our learning should allow for the same interconnectivity. He is an avid supporter of cross-curricular learning and firmly believes in the application of knowledge learned. In his view, languages provide filters for the world: they can help students open doors and understand the world communities they will soon enter.
