South African national Candice van Buul is a practicing artist and studied fine art, majoring in sculpture, at Vaal University.
With seven years of international teaching experience, she spent three years in the Middle East, in Bahrain, and has most recently spent four years teaching in China. She gained her Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Buckingham University in the United Kingdom and is currently studying a masters degree in education. Her main research focus is the development of critical thinking in Chinese students within an international schooling curriculum.
She is passionate about working with Chinese students to create art that honours their traditions whilst deepening their understanding of western, modern and classical art. She offers a sculpture club as an after-school activity to provide students with an opportunity to understand the space around them, as well as explore shapes and forms in new and exciting ways.
